Why Choose Atlantic School of Marine Survey
- We are an ABYC affiliated school. Although the ABYC Standards Course is NOT a prerequisite for attending Atlantic School of Marine Survey course, it is a prerequisite for applying for SAMS or NAMS. The applicant should complete the ABYC Standards course online on the ABYC website before the class or certainly before applying to SAMS or NAMS.
- The class is taught over 21 straight days. This minimizes impact on income and family life.
- The course is taught with a hands-on philosophy.
- Field work is done actual customer vessels.
- The instructors are SAMS certified, AMS, working surveyors. The lead instructor is an ABYC Master Mechanic in Electrical, Systems, and Engines. The latest surveying NDT testing and techniques are introduced, such as but not limited to, thermal imaging, ultra-sound, and infusion. The instructors are very experienced in all phases of yacht construction and repairs. Additional marine specialists are also available to enhance the training.
- Class size is limited to 8. This is a 4 to 1 student teacher ratio. The small classes allow the course to be adapted to the needs of the students.
