Why Choose Atlantic School of Marine Survey
- We are an ABYC affiliated school. Training, testing, and certification is part of the class and included in your class tuition.
- The class is taught over 21 straight days. This minimizes expenses for the student and impact on income and family life, versus a 6-week course
- You’ll start learning the reporting right away. Reporting software is provided on a trial basis for the duration of the class. The software may be purchased or other options pursued.
- The course is taught with a hands-on philosophy. We’ll get you out of the classroom and on real boats.
- The instructors are SAMS© credentialed AMS©, actively working surveyors. The lead instructor is an ABYC Master Mechanic in Electrical, Systems, and Engines. The latest surveying NDT (Non-destructive testing) and techniques are introduced, including, but not limited to, thermal imaging, ultra-sound, and infusion.
- The instructors are very experienced in all phases of yacht construction and repairs.
- Guest presenters with special areas of expertise are also available to enhance the training.
- Class size is limited to 8. This is a 4 to 1 student teacher ratio. The small classes allow the course to be adapted to the needs of the students.
